We deliver Emergency First Aid at Work Training in Runcorn at your workplace. We can deliver an Emergency First Aid at Work course onsite in workplace for a group of delegates. The course is recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Certificated and is valid for 3 years. The course covers the standard EFAW content plus the use of AED defibrillators. The course cost is a group price for any number of delegates from 3 to 12. It is not a per person cost. If you would like a quote for more than 12 delegates, we would need to use more than 1 instructor, so please contact us. This course is designed for lower risk working environments and/or smaller organisations. This is a 1 day course

Summary
The Emergency First Aid at Work (level 2 equivalent) course is a one-day course that will teach you all the skills, knowledge and techniques you need to offer essential emergency medical treatment. You will learn how to manage illnesses and injuries effectively until the paramedics, or other medical professionals, arrive.
This HSE recognised emergency first aid at work cause is taught by experienced, qualified trainers, the course can be delivered either on-site at your place of work, or as an open course at a local training venue. The course leads to a nationally recognised qualification that’s valid for three years, even if you change employer.
The emergency first aid at work course covers the most common health and safety incidents you may be faced with as a first aider, including:
- The use of available equipment
- Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
- Choking
- Wounds and bleeding
- Shock
- Minor injuries
- Preventing cross infection
- Recording incidents and actions

We can deliver the First Aid at Work training course at you workplace for a group of delegates from three to twelve. The cost quoted is a course price. If you wish more than twelve staff to be trained please contact us for a quote. The training is Certificated and is recognised by the HSE and the certificate lasts for 3 years. The training is over 3 days and includes Automated External Defibrillator Training

Our full-day EFAW course is most applicable to ‘low-risk’ work environments such as retail spaces and small offices, and educates your employees on the key first aid principles and procedures they might need in the event of an emergency.
The session will cover common accidents and illnesses that can arise within the workplace, plus the appropriate responses to these – giving your staff the confidence to act decisively.

Paediatric First Aid

Recognised by: OFSTED and EYFS
Valid for: 3 years
Our two-day Paediatric First Aid course is suitable for any employee within a school, nursery or other child-minding environment. In attending this course, your staff will elevate their knowledge and skill levels beyond that of the basic first-aider.
There are numerous common accidents, sudden illnesses and other emergencies that can affect young children and babies, and this training teaches attendees how to go about responding to those.

First Aid at Work (FAW) – level 3

Our three-day FAW course goes into far greater detail than the level-2 course (the one-day session mentioned above), and is ideal for first-aiders who work in hazardous environments such as construction, agriculture or manufacturing settings.
Of course, this training is widely applicable to all different kinds of businesses in many sectors, so we can tailor the content of the sessions to your specific industry if you would like – which is advisable if you want to ensure maximum relevance.
First Aid – Annual Half-Day Refresher

Recognised by: Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
Valid for: 1 year
First aid qualifications are valid for three years, but HSE strongly recommends that any first-aider receives refresher training annually, as this helps to keep their knowledge fresh. Please note that we can provide this refresher session for you even if we didn’t provide the initial training.

Our three-hour Fire Awareness course is a solid introduction to basic fire safety principles and how to apply them within the workplace, so that your staff can respond decisively in the event of a fire or the triggering of a fire alarm, including building evacuations. Also, each attendee completes a practical fire extinguisher demonstration to ensure that the knowledge is embedded.
Although this training is not a legal requirement, every employer should nonetheless view it as essential, because the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 stipulates that employers provide adequate safety training to all employees.

Fire Warden (AKA Fire Marshal)

Valid for: Indefinitely (but we recommend refreshing knowledge every 3 years)
Our half-day Fire Warden course imparts the key skills and techniques needed for identifying and preventing fire risks within the workplace, and includes how to deal with fire emergencies. In order to pass the course, each attendee much complete a practical fire extinguisher demonstration.
Fire warden training is a legal requirement, and it applies to every single employee who has fire warden responsibilities within the organisation – not just the most senior fire marshal (or the ‘fire safety coordinator’, i.e. the same thing).

Hot Work Passport

Our full-day Hot Work Passport course educates attendees on the risks and hazards involved in hot work, instructing them how to carry out hot work permits (risk assessments) in order to prevent fires. ‘Hot work’ is defined as any activity that can produce heat or sparks, including welding, using Stihl saws, operating cutting discs and so on.
Hot work permits are legally required for any worker who is carrying out or supervising hot work, which includes site managers. After completing the course, each attendee will receive a certificate and a photo ID card (‘passport’).

Our half-day Evacuation Chair course runs through everything involved with operating evacuation chairs in the event of emergencies (such as fires and building evacuations), in order to safely evacuate immobile or disabled persons from the building.
