We deliver Emergency First Aid at Work Training in Wigan at your workplace. We can deliver an Emergency First Aid at Work course onsite in workplace for a group of delegates. The course is recognised by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), Certificated and is valid for 3 years. The course covers the standard EFAW content plus the use of AED defibrillators. The course cost is a group price for any number of delegates from 3 to 12. It is not a per person cost. If you would like a quote for more than 12 delegates, we would need to use more than 1 instructor, so please contact us. This course is designed for lower risk working environments and/or smaller organisations. This is a 1 day course

Summary
The Emergency First Aid at Work (level 2 equivalent) course is a one-day course that will teach you all the skills, knowledge and techniques you need to offer essential emergency medical treatment. You will learn how to manage illnesses and injuries effectively until the paramedics, or other medical professionals, arrive.
This HSE recognised emergency first aid at work cause is taught by experienced, qualified trainers, the course can be delivered either on-site at your place of work, or as an open course at a local training venue. The course leads to a nationally recognised qualification that’s valid for three years, even if you change employer.
The emergency first aid at work course covers the most common health and safety incidents you may be faced with as a first aider, including:
- The use of available equipment
- Acting safely, promptly and effectively in an emergency
- Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
- Treating an unconscious casualty (including seizure)
- Choking
- Wounds and bleeding
- Shock
- Minor injuries
- Preventing cross infection
- Recording incidents and actions

We can deliver the First Aid at Work training course at you workplace for a group of delegates from three to twelve. The cost quoted is a course price. If you wish more than twelve staff to be trained please contact us for a quote. The training is Certificated and is recognised by the HSE and the certificate lasts for 3 years. The training is over 3 days and includes Automated External Defibrillator Training

Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) – level 2

Valid for: 3 years
This full-day course covers basic emergency first aid within ‘low-risk’ work environments (i.e. retail spaces, hospitality, offices, etc.), outlining key principles and procedures.
Attendees will learn about various accidents and sudden illnesses that can take place within the workplace, picking up the key knowledge and techniques needed to respond appropriately in emergency scenarios.

Paediatric First Aid
Completion certificate: Yes
Recognised by: OFSTED and EYFS
Valid for: 3 years
This two-day course is designed for staff in schools, nurseries and other child-minding environments, and elevates attendees’ knowledge and skills beyond that of the basic first-aider.
By the end of both days, your staff will be well-versed in the various common accidents, illnesses and other emergencies that can affect young children and babies, and will know how to respond appropriately to each situation.

First Aid at Work (FAW) – level 3

The three-day course delves much deeper than the one-day level-2 course. It is most suitable for first-aiders who work in a more hazardous environment such as a construction or manufacturing environment, or within a much larger organisation spanning several floors.
As this training is so widely applicable to all different kinds of businesses, we can tailor the course content to your specific industry if that is of interest to you – ensuring maximum relevance for your staff and their common environments.
First Aid – Annual Half-Day Refresher

Recognised by: Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
Valid for: 1 year
Although first aid qualifications last for three years, HSE strongly recommends that all qualified first-aiders attend annual refresher training, as this keeps knowledge fresh and ensures that first-aiders to up to date attendees on legislation and best practice. We can provide the refresher session for you even if we didn’t provide the initial training.
Fire Awareness

This three-hour course introduces your staff to the principles of basic fire and teaches them how to respond decisively in the event of a fire (or the triggering of a fire alarm). The evacuation of buildings is also covered and, crucially, all attendees will take part in a practical fire extinguisher demonstration.
This type of training is not legally required, but every employer should nonetheless view it as a priority, given that the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 states that employers must provide adequate safety training to all employees.

Fire Warden (AKA Fire Marshal)

Valid for: Indefinitely (but we recommend refreshing knowledge every 3 years)
This half-day course is for all fire wardens within any organisation. During the session, your employees will be introduced to the key skills and techniques needed for identifying and preventing fire risks, as well as taking charge during a fire emergency. There is a practical fire extinguisher demonstration that each attendee must complete in order to pass the course.
Fire warden training is a legal requirement for all types of businesses, and it applies to every single employee who has fire warden responsibilities – not just the most senior fire marshal (or the ‘fire safety coordinator’, which is the same thing).

Hot Work Passport

This full-day course covers the risks and hazards involved in hot work, and educates attendees in the safe carrying out of hot work permits (risk assessments) and the prevention of fires. ‘Hot work’ is defined as any activity that can produce heat or sparks.
Hot work permits are a legal requirement for anyone who is carrying out or supervising hot work, and this includes site managers – it is not solely for the worker doing the labour. After completing the course, each attendee will get a certificate and a photo ID card (‘passport’) which they can carry around on-site.

Evacuation Chair

This half-day course teaches attendees how to operate an evacuation chair in the event of an emergency (such as a fire), in order to safely evacuate immobile or disabled persons from the building.
Although the training itself is not a legal requirement, it is a legal requirement for businesses to ensure a safe means of escape from their premises.
