Course Overview

The three-day first aid at work course is our most thorough first aid course and is equivalent to a Level 3 certificate. It is recognised by the Health and Safety Executive and meets the requirements of the First Aid at Work regulations (1981).

This comprehensive three-day course will refresh and update your first aid knowledge and skills, allowing you to take appropriate action and provide treatment in a wide range of situations, including accidents, incidents and sudden illness. It will give you the skills you need to take care of the patient until qualified support, such as paramedics, arrives and the patient can be transferred to hospital.

The course will not only teach you the basics of first aid in the workplace but also train you in advanced techniques such as the use of an automated defibrillator (AED). It is designed for you if you are a nominated first aider in a hazardous environment, such as a factory or a construction site, as well as providing you with complete training for any other work situation.

You will also learn how to complete the mandatory paperwork required for formerly reporting an accident under the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations(RIDDOR)2013.

As an employer, this Health and Safety Executive-approved course will not only help you to meet your obligations under the First Aid at Work (1981) regulations but also ensure that your staff, customers and visitors are well protected and provided for.

The maximum number of delegates on a three-day first aid at work course is 12. We can happily cater for more delegates on a course, but we need need advanced notice as we’ll require a trainer for every additional 12 delegates.

Training at your Workplace

As well as training locations across the country, we can deliver on-site training at your workplace for a group of delegates. The cost of the three-day first aid at work course would be £1,395. For this cost, the group size can be any number of staff trained from 2 to 12. If you wish to train more than 12 delegates on a course, please contact us for a quote.

The advantages of training at your workplace are that you can select a day of your choice and there is flexibility regarding any preferred start time for the training.

It is also ideal for you if you want to expand your first aid skills and receive a certified HSE-approved qualification.

What level is the First Aid At Work Course?

The three-day first aid course is equivalent to a Level 3 qualification, which is suitable for individuals who are designated as first aiders in the workplace

Is there an assessment?

You will be continually assessed throughout the three days to ensure you have understood each part of the course before we move on.

To achieve HSE-approved certification, you must also pass a formal assessment on completion of the course. Your certification is valid for three years even if you change employer during that time.

How often should the training be carried out?

In general, it is recommended that first aiders undergo first aid at work refresher training annually to ensure their knowledge and skills are up to date. However, some workplaces may require more frequent training, particularly if the level of risk is high or the workplace has experienced a recent incident.
